Meet the Doctor

Dr. Joseph Koberlein

Dr. Joseph Koberlein is a native of Northeast Ohio. He pursued his undergraduate education at the University of Akron earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Koberlein received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Ohio State University. He also received his post-doctorate Masters of Science degree and specialty training in Periodontics at the Ohio State University.

During his three year residency in the graduate periodontics program at the Ohio State University, Dr. Koberlein conducted clinical research on the effects of antibiotics. The results of his work were published in the Journal of Periodontology and was presented at the International Association for Dental Research. Dr. Koberlein is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Ohio Academy of Periodontology, Midwest Society of Periodontology, American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, and the Akron Dental Society.

Dr. Koberlein maintains continuing education to remain up to date on periodontology, and dental implant advancements.

In his spare time, Dr. Koberlein enjoys spending time with his wife, Melanie, his son, Josef who is entering a residency in Ocular Disease, and his daughter, Alexandra who is in medical school. He enjoys being outdoors hiking, fishing, biking, gardening, cutting fire wood for his wood burning stove, traveling and cooking over an open wood fire.
